About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team as a Site Manager at our prestigious heritage site. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a vital role in delivering an exceptional visitor experience, ensuring the site's compliance with health and safety regulations, and contributing to the overall success of the National Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the site, including visitor experience, compliance, and maintenance tasks.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the visitor experience, increase revenue, and promote the site's heritage significance.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including local authorities and community groups, to deliver events and programs that showcase the site's history and natural environment.
  • Lead a team of rangers and visitor experience staff, providing guidance and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality services.
  • Monitor and report on site performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as necessary.
Requirements
  • Significant operational management experience in a busy customer-facing environment, preferably in a heritage or conservation setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, and visitors.
  • Experience of assessing and leading risk, with a good understanding of health and safety regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to work independently, respond to varying pressures, and lead difficult situations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
