About the Role

As a Skilled Highways Maintenance Operative, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our road networks. You'll be part of a dedicated team responsible for delivering high-quality highway maintenance and construction projects.

Your Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the highway maintenance operational team to execute various skilled tasks.
  • Carry out a range of duties, including carriageway, footway, drainage maintenance, soft estate upkeep (e.g., grass cutting, strimming), and minor civil works.
  • Prioritize safety in all work activities.
  • Understand daily briefings, risks, and control measures for assigned tasks.
  • Maintain accurate records through daily sheets and associated documentation.

About You

We are seeking a candidate with proven experience in delivering highway maintenance activities on-site. Experience in winter maintenance and emergency response is highly desirable.

  • Possess a valid driving license; an LGV class 2 license is advantageous.
  • Demonstrate the ability to conduct basic safety, quality, and environmental audits, as well as risk assessments.
  • Take responsibility for traffic management, including 12 A/B Traffic Management.
