Development Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Development Engineer to join our technical team at Fawkes & Reece (North). This role offers an excellent opportunity for growth and professional development, especially for those looking to take the next step in their career.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist the Technical and Commercial Departments in issuing tender drawings to contractors, reviewing submissions, and engaging in pre-award meetings.
- Review engineering designs to ensure cost-effectiveness and buildability.
- Coordinate as-built surveys and produce AutoCAD drawings for road and sewer adoption, including S278, S38, S104 & S185 adoptions.
- Inspect road and sewer works from commencement to formal adoption by the Local Authority, ensuring compliance with budget and timescale.
- Obtain, check, and issue plot postal addresses.
- Obtain multi-utility/service connection quotations, assess them with the Engineering Manager, and monitor site teams in delivering mains and plot connections.
- Ensure that all driveways and footpaths are completed to agreed standards prior to the legal completion of new homes.
- Answer site queries regarding engineering issues with support from line management.
- Prepare and maintain drawing registers and up-to-date records of engineering details and drawings.
- Prepare External Works and Plot Drainage plans using AutoCAD in accordance with AHL's standards.
- Produce, manage, and monitor a Materials Management Plan for topsoil and subsoil for each assigned development.
- Check and coordinate information from external consultants, suppliers, and manufacturers regarding engineering-related details.
- HNC / HND in Construction/Civil Engineering.
- Proficient in AutoCAD.
- Strong engineering knowledge from previous experience in the House Building Sector.
- Commercial awareness.
- Health and safety awareness.
- Ability to work effectively within a busy team environment as well as autonomously when required.
