Job Description

The Manufacturing, Testing and Qualification function within the Asset Management Business of Altrad Babcock provides consultancy services to the Oil and Gas, Process, Nuclear and Renewables sectors. Within this function, we have an opportunity for a Senior Test and Equipment Qualification Project Engineer to join us in Renfrew.

Our successful candidate will have the ability to work as part of the team providing a wide range of expertise across the division, as well as undertaking work across the wider Asset Management business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project manage and lead large-scale Equipment Qualification (EQ) test programmes, including financial and technical governance.
  • Analyse data generated from EQ tests and write reports and technical documents.
  • Provide specification of instrumentation and data acquisition test set-up to meet client test programme requirements.
  • Be responsible for all aspects of pre-contract negotiations, including client liaison, interpretation of client requirements, and preparation of winning tenders.
  • Design and calculate bespoke test rigs required to carry out department contracts.
  • Lead on all internal stakeholder engagement required to successfully complete contracts, including the setting to work of technical project teams.

Requirements:

  • A relevant Engineering degree.
  • Considerable transferrable experience, ideally in structural qualification of components within a relevant sector.
  • Instrumentation and data acquisition experience.
  • A thorough understanding of mechanical engineering principles and their application within a component test environment.
