Position Title – SHEQ Advisor (South)
Location – Remote, with required travel to various locations across the South region of the country 3 to 4 days a week.
Job Type - Permanent
Working Hours - Full-time
Key Responsibilities:
As a SHEQ Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the continuous development of SHEQ and Energy management systems within Hydro's UK operations. Your contributions will be essential in achieving compliance with relevant legislation while fostering a positive SHEQ and Energy culture.
Essential Qualifications:
• A valid driving license.
• Over 5 years of SHEQ experience, preferably in the water, engineering, or fabrication sectors, with a solid understanding of associated risks.
• NEBOSH General/Construction Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety.
• NEBOSH Environmental Management Certificate or equivalent qualifications.
• Familiarity with SHE laws and standards.
• Knowledge of ISO standards and auditing practices (ISO 45001, 9001, 14001, and 50001).
• Experience in conducting inspections and audits.
Desirable Skills:
• Knowledge in energy reduction and sustainability initiatives, including carbon analysis and decarbonization strategies.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative approach to teamwork.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Key Duties:
1. Ensure compliance with SHEQ and Energy legislation and standards.
2. Collaborate with management to oversee ISO management systems and facilitate audits.
3. Mentor teams on SHEQ and Energy compliance.
4. Promote a proactive safety culture throughout the organization.
5. Maintain accurate records and assist in statistical analysis and reporting.
6. Conduct regular SHEQ and Energy audits and inspections.
