Job Title: Investment Director

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Investment Director to join our team at Barclays. As a key member of our Strategic Investments group, you will be responsible for managing our principal equity investments portfolio, ensuring it aligns with our bank's overall business objectives and risk tolerance.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Work closely with business units and colleagues to identify key themes and focus areas for investment that will help underpin Barclays' strategic objectives.
  2. Conduct thorough market analysis to identify potential investment opportunities.
  3. Develop and implement investment strategies that align with our bank's risk appetite and regulatory requirements.
  4. Monitor and analyze the performance of our principal equity investment portfolio, evaluating its performance against risk indicators and investment strategic objectives.
  5. Implement and maintain effective risk management processes to identify, measure, monitor, and control risks arising from transacting in principal equity investments.

Requirements

  1. Proven experience in investment management, with a strong understanding of financial markets and instruments.
  2. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically.
  3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.
  4. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
  5. Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and risk management principles.
