About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Governance Specialist to join our Financial Crime Analytics team at Nationwide Building Society. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our data, driving a data-driven culture, and promoting a positive data culture across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Continuously assess our adherence to the Society's Data Governance Framework, identifying areas for improvement and implementing sustainable solutions.
  • Develop and maintain data controls, including data lineage mapping, data quality outputs, and dashboards, to ensure data is well understood and optimized for its purpose.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts in financial data and systems to maximize the capability of our systems and ensure data quality.
  • Communicate effectively with data and business stakeholders to promote a data-driven culture and drive business value.
Requirements
  • Proven experience implementing data controls in a large organization, including development and rollout of data dictionaries, lineage documentation, and data quality scorecards.
  • Extensive knowledge of data governance frameworks and industry best practices.
  • Experience with SAS and/or SQL, Collibra, and Microsoft Excel and Power BI or similar tools.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to promote a positive data culture and drive business as usual activities.
