About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Ophthalmologist to join our team at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Ophthalmology department, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist ophthalmic care to patients, including cataract and oculoplastic surgery
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of new services and initiatives within the department
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care
  • Participate in teaching and training activities to support the development of junior staff
Requirements
  • Eligibility for inclusion on the Specialist Register or within 6 months of interview date
  • Full registration with the GMC
  • FRCOPHTH or Equivalent CCST in Ophthalmology
  • Minimum 8 years clinical experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
