Role Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Project Manager to join our expanding team. In this role, you will be pivotal in organizing and managing various projects undertaken by Vital Group. You will be expected to work autonomously or collaboratively to fulfill customer requirements and drive our organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in a hybrid role that includes on-site presence to support project completion, ensuring compliance with electrical sign-off processes and certification requirements.
  • Compile a comprehensive list of all necessary components, equipment, and ancillary items for each project, focusing on strategic purchasing to enhance project profitability.
  • Collaborate with project engineers on-site to ensure timelines are adhered to and any challenges are addressed swiftly.
  • Coordinate with the operations and scheduling teams to effectively allocate labor and resources.
  • Conduct site surveys for awarded projects to develop accurate work programs.
  • Participate in site surveys alongside the sales team to provide technical and practical support for project designs.
  • Serve as the primary contact for project sites, including necessary site visits.
  • Expand the subcontractor network across various disciplines to ensure the availability of local labor for project support.
  • Create and maintain a project tracker to compare estimated costs against actual expenditures, facilitating accurate margin monitoring.
  • Maintain strict oversight of project budgets to minimize unplanned expenses due to inadequate initial planning.
  • Focus on maximizing project profitability through strategic management.
  • Provide regular updates to the Group Engineering Manager regarding project progress and financial performance, identifying issues and proposing solutions to mitigate future impacts.
  • Enhance the supplier network to ensure the best value service is consistently delivered.
  • Assist in the recruitment process for new members of the Vital projects team.

Candidate Profile:

Essential Qualifications:

  • Strong educational background.
  • Relevant experience in generator services or the power generation sector, or the EV charging industry.
  • Proven project management experience, ideally within the power generation field.
  • Experience in liaising with customers and suppliers effectively.
  • Possession of a valid CSCS/ECS card.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage workload independently.
  • Strong commercial acumen.
  • Experience working both collaboratively and independently.
  • Problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset.
  • Self-driven with a capacity for rapid learning.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Willingness to pursue further training for professional growth.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with customers and relay information clearly.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Electrical qualifications.
  • Completion of brand-specific generator training programs.
