Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil Engineer to join our team at Vistry Group, a leading provider of affordable mixed-tenure homes. As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will play a key role in managing the day-to-day coordination and design of engineering projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Manage and report all engineering requirements, ensuring compliance with company policies and processes.
  • Civil Engineering: Oversee the design and detailing of new estate roads and sewers, including Section 38, 104, and S278 Agreements, to ensure timely completion and adherence to best practice.
  • Temporary Works Co-ordinator: Ensure that all temporary works are adequately and safely designed, constructed, and used, and that those responsible for construction receive full detail of the design.
  • Coordination and Communication: Liaise with other technical team members, statutory undertakers, and regional local highway authorities to ensure timely completion of legal agreements and adoption of services.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain a continuous process of evaluation of consultant designs to ensure that proposals adhere to best practice in value engineering.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and review technical documentation, including health and safety files, and ensure that all sites are furnished with the required information packages.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor of Engineering degree (BEng) or equivalent.
  • Experience: Proven experience working within a residential house builder or relevant consultancy, with in-depth knowledge of the engineering function and its delivery.
  • Skills: Strong mathematical and IT ability, with excellent communication and analytical skills, and the ability to visualise and explain design ideas.
  • Desirable: Achieved incorporated or chartered status, and membership of the Institute of Civil Engineers (ICE).
