As a Control Room Operative, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities, while contributing to our mission of making a positive impact on the environment.

About the Role

As a Control Room Operative, you'll be responsible for assisting with day-to-day operations, ensuring health and safety compliance, and contributing to productivity and plant availability. You'll work closely with our engineering team to develop and implement maintenance programs, and use your analytical skills to monitor and adjust processes as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and resolve operating problems, taking corrective action as necessary.
  • Monitor and interpret meter and gauge readings, and adjust processes accordingly.
  • Operate valves, gates, and equipment to control and adjust flow and treatment processes.
  • Record and maintain accurate logs of plant operations, settings, and stoppages.
  • Manage traffic activities on site using CCTV and 2-way radio.
  • Support the engineering function in developing and implementing maintenance programs.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes to health and safety, environmental legislation, and company policies and procedures.

Requirements

Essential

  • IT literacy and comfort using business software and systems.
  • Analytical skills and ability to measure and monitor data.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

Desirable

  • IOSH or other safety qualifications.
