Our Operations
We operate a vast direct-to-store (DTS) distribution network, comprising 17 depots nationwide, enabling us to make over 10,400 daily deliveries of our own chilled and frozen produce and that of third parties. Our manufacturing units produce more than 160 million units per year across 600 different product lines for customers such as Morrisons, Tesco & Asda.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced multiskilled maintenance engineer from an FMCG/Food background to join our team as a Maintenance Engineer - Apprentice. As one of our skilled maintenance engineers, you will be responsible for:
- Carrying out fault finding, problem solving, and planned and preventative maintenance on plant equipment to maximise equipment reliability and performance.
- Responding to internal customer needs to maximise production time according to given priorities.
- Complying with food safety standards and controls to ensure all work is carried out correctly and safely.
- Completing all necessary documentation ensuring that it is kept accurate and is audit ready.
- Identifying and recommending opportunities for improvements to promote Health & Safety and/or operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Maintenance on a range of manufacturing/production/packaging machinery.
Requirements
We are looking for an apprentice-trained engineer with a formal engineering qualification (minimum Level 3 NVQ/C&G) and experience working as a Maintenance Engineer within manufacturing/FMCG. You should have knowledge of both mechanical and electrical maintenance, a proactive approach, and a willingness to learn and develop. Experience in electrical and mechanical fault finding is also essential.
