Job Summary

Baker Harding Limited is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team as an Equipment Maintenance Specialist. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our equipment and facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine checks and maintenance on equipment to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor and report on equipment performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Risk Assessment and Permit to Work: Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with safety protocols and procedures.
  • Inspection and Maintenance Management: Develop and implement maintenance schedules and programs to ensure equipment is properly maintained and inspected.
  • Emergency Preparedness and Response: Participate in emergency response planning and training, and assist in responding to emergencies as needed.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Time-served apprenticeship in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Technical Skills: Good working knowledge of pumps, steam boilers, and pneumatics; experience with CMMS systems and computer literacy.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position, working 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The successful candidate will be required to work at heights and in confined spaces, and will be expected to adhere to all safety protocols and procedures.
