Job Title: Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Hiring Now: A Mechanical Maintenance Engineer is required for a leading manufacturer of wheat derivatives in Selby, North Yorkshire.

As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out planned, predictive, and reactive mechanical maintenance to ensure optimum efficiency of all machinery and plant requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform planned, predictive, and reactive mechanical maintenance in a timely manner, whilst adhering to safe working procedures.
  • Perform preventative maintenance inspection (PM), diagnose, repair, and rebuild major equipment/components including pumps, centrifuges, screw conveyors, gearboxes, milling equipment, pulleys, shafts, bearings, and belts.
  • Perform Daily Equipment Inspections (DEI) and greasing schedules.
  • Involvement in the testing, improvement, and maintenance of manufacturing processes and infrastructure.
  • Work in conjunction with contractors/vendor service teams when more specialised skills are required.
  • Support the implementation of a computerised maintenance management system (CMMS) of all repairs, servicing, and modifications to equipment.
Requirements:
  • Apprentice trained or relevant mechanical engineering qualifications, with the ability to demonstrate suitable experience in a similar role.
  • Ability to be on call out of hours on a rota system.
