Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our team at Royds Hall Academy. As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the teaching and learning of our students, working closely with teachers to deliver high-quality education and ensuring that all students receive the support they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support teachers in the delivery of lessons, providing individualized support to students as needed.
  2. Assist with the planning and preparation of lessons, including the development of learning resources and activities.
  3. Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to the development of Individual Support Plans.
  4. Lead small group and one-to-one interventions, using a range of strategies to promote engagement and progress.
  5. Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement strategies to support students with complex communication and interaction needs.
  6. Contribute to the maintenance and analysis of student records, ensuring that all data is accurate and up-to-date.
  7. Organize and manage the learning environment, ensuring that all resources and materials are available and accessible to students.
  8. Support the organization of the school day, including staff timetables and cover arrangements.
  9. Develop positive relationships with parents and carers, working in collaboration to secure the best outcomes for students.
  10. Contribute to the development of the school's curriculum, including the selection and preparation of teaching resources.

Requirements:

  • HLTA status or equivalent
  • Experience of working with secondary pupils, particularly those with complex communication and interaction needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to engage and influence others
  • Knowledge of best practice approaches to support students with complex communication and interaction needs
  • Ability to work flexibly and as part of a team
  • Business car insurance essential
