Contract Details:

Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead the provision of technical services for the Building Control Authority, ensuring all construction activities adhere to relevant legislation and regulations.
2. Offer expert guidance through the development of reports and briefings concerning building safety, regulatory compliance, and structural integrity.
3. Support the regulatory body in overseeing higher-risk buildings, ensuring adherence to the latest safety standards and enforcement protocols.
4. Guarantee full cost recovery for the organization in alignment with established regulations regarding building safety fees and charges.
5. Ensure that building inspectors meet competency standards as mandated by regulatory authorities, focusing on ongoing training and professional development.
6. Enforce building regulations within the jurisdiction, utilizing powers granted under relevant legislation to uphold public safety.
7. Investigate violations of building laws and pursue legal action as necessary.

Qualifications:
- A minimum of five years of post-qualification experience, ideally within a Building Control setting.
- Demonstrated ability to approach technical challenges flexibly while adhering to legal standards.
- Understanding of the commercial landscape and the impact of individual contributions within the department.
- Familiarity with quality management systems is advantageous.
- Proficient in utilizing various software applications for documentation, data entry, and information retrieval.
