About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Retail Assistant to join our team at Cancer Research UK. As a Sunday Shop Ambassador, you will be responsible for overseeing the running of our shop on a Sunday, including taking keyholder responsibility and supporting a talented and diverse team of volunteers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the running of the shop on a Sunday, including taking keyholder responsibility and supporting a team of volunteers.
  • Assist the wider shop team in achieving sales and fundraising targets.
  • Review and process donated goods and new stock.
  • Develop creative ideas to help generate new income, with guidance from the Shop Manager.
  • Provide excellent customer service to ensure our customers and supporters feel welcome and appreciated.
  • Maintain shop standards regarding safeguarding, compliance, and health and safety.

We are looking for someone with a working knowledge of great customer service, experience of working in a lively and vibrant environment, and adaptability in changing situations. You should be able to work effectively independently and as part of a team, and have commercial awareness and the ability to create relationships and communicate well.
