Job Overview

This role presents a unique opportunity within Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, offering a full-time remote working arrangement. The ideal candidate will possess accreditation as a Clinical Coder (ACC) or have substantial experience in clinical coding. As part of a collaborative team, you will be responsible for extracting and interpreting clinical data from various sources, including digitized patient records and electronic health systems, translating this information into appropriate diagnostic and procedural codes in accordance with established national standards.

- Ensure accurate coding of complex clinical data related to diagnoses and surgical procedures using national (OPCS-4) and international (ICD-10) coding systems, adhering to all relevant standards.

- Input coded clinical data into the Trust's patient information system, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.

- Collaborate closely with the data quality team to verify accurate episode data within the hospital system.

- Manage workload effectively while meeting deadlines and maintaining high standards of accuracy and completeness in clinical coding.

- Engage in ongoing professional development to refresh coding skills and stay updated on changes in coding practices and local policies.

- Participate in internal audits to enhance the accuracy and consistency of clinical coding and the representation of activity within the Trust.

- Uphold confidentiality regarding all coded and patient information.
