Job Title: Director, Growth & Transition Capital

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director, Growth & Transition Capital to join our team at BDC Capital. As a key member of our investment team, you will be responsible for originating, evaluating, and underwriting financing and investment opportunities that align with our investment criteria.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Originate and evaluate financing and investment opportunities through rigorous business development activities
  • Analyze and recommend complex financing and investment opportunities using innovative financing structures
  • Lead the due diligence process and underwriting of loans that meet our investment criteria
  • Monitor investments and manage portfolio risk post-closing to exit through well-timed and articulated portfolio administration
  • Develop and implement value-added plans to support portfolio clients in achieving their goals
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or a related field (MBA an asset)
  • Professional designation is an asset (CPA, CBV, and/or CFA)
  • 5+ years of progressive lending experience in mezzanine or senior debt financing with responsibilities for new transaction origination, client management, and portfolio management
  • Demonstrated knowledge of leveraged finance transactions, including cash flow lending, senior and junior debt structures, and applicable underwriting and due diligence skills
  • Proven business development skills and results
  • A highly developed professional network
  • Demonstrated negotiation and deal-making skills
  • Robust financial analysis, risk assessment, and financial modeling and forecasting abilities
  • Ability to negotiate legal documents and manage legal counsel to achieve stated objectives
  • Sound financial, credit, and investment judgment
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong collaboration, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Complex problem-solving skills
