Role OverviewWe are seeking a qualified individual to cover the maternity leave of our current Senior QA Engineer, joining one of our dedicated development teams. Reporting directly to the Lead QA Engineer, the ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to quality and will strive to maintain high standards across Immediate Media Co's digital platforms, fostering a culture of excellence and encouraging quality considerations at every stage of the development process.
Our digital platform is a vital component of our business strategy, built using contemporary development methodologies, a service-oriented architecture, and a headless CMS, all deployed on cloud infrastructure such as AWS to ensure scalability in response to evolving user demands.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure the integrity and quality of product modifications.
- Represent QA in all team meetings and ceremonies.
- Serve as a QA role model, enhancing the team's understanding of quality and mentoring them towards improvement.
- Conduct comprehensive functional, non-functional, and regression testing.
- Effectively communicate issues and manage their resolution.
- Engage in exploratory testing to expand test coverage and identify bugs and defects.
- Collaborate with fellow QA engineers to establish standards, best practices, and guidelines.
- Work alongside team members, Product Managers, and Delivery Managers to plan new features or significant enhancements.
- Build positive working relationships with a diverse group of colleagues.
Essential Qualifications
- Extensive experience in an agile environment.
- In-depth knowledge of the software development lifecycle.
- Experience with Behaviour Driven Development, Data Driven Testing, and Risk Based Analysis methodologies.
- Significant experience in web and mobile testing across various browsers and devices.
- Proficient in logging and reporting bugs using Jira or similar tools.
- Experience in accessibility testing.
- Demonstrated experience with at least one JavaScript test automation tool (e.g., Selenium-WebDriverIO, Cypress, Postman) and a willingness to expand testing skills with new tools and techniques.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and the significance of continuous testing.
- Experience with Source Control Management (SCM) tools such as Git.
- API testing experience using Postman.
- Strong communication, listening, and negotiation skills.
- A proactive learner, eager to enhance personal and team skills and adapt to new tools and processes.
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience in automated API testing.
- Knowledge of performance testing.
- ISTQB foundation level certification or equivalent.
- Familiarity with AWS, Docker, and Jenkins.
