Position Overview

We are excited to announce an opportunity for an Innovation Project Associate within our Group Innovation team at DS Smith, a global leader in sustainable packaging solutions and recycling services.

Role Responsibilities

As an Innovation Project Associate, you will play a crucial role in the coordination and execution of various project and program activities. Reporting directly to the Group Innovation Growth Platform Director, your contributions will be essential in driving our strategic and commercial objectives.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Facilitating the development and implementation of innovative solutions within the Growth Platform, from concept to commercialization.
  • Preparing for toll-gate decision-making in accordance with the Strategic Innovation Playbook.
  • Organizing production trials and customer pilots, ensuring seamless coordination of sample production and international logistics.
  • Supporting business development efforts through market research, customer engagement, and the analysis of commercial data.
  • Creating marketing materials and communications to effectively convey our innovations.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • 2-3 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Background in packaging manufacturing or operations.
  • Knowledge of supply chain management.
  • Experience in designing and implementing new processes.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • International work experience, preferably across multiple DS Smith locations.
  • A self-motivated and hands-on approach to problem-solving.
  • Adaptability and the ability to manage stakeholder relationships effectively.
  • A university degree at the Master's level is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Aspirations to grow into a leadership role within DS Smith.
