Physiotherapist for Adults with Learning Disabilities

We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Physiotherapist to join our Community Learning Disability Health Team at North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary team, providing specialist physiotherapy services to adults with learning disabilities in the community. As a Physiotherapist, you will be responsible for assessing and treating clients with diverse physical, psychological, and behavioral needs, promoting their health and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for adults with learning disabilities.
- Provide timely interventions to promote and maintain the health of adults with learning disabilities through individual and group therapy.
- Work closely with other services to reduce health inequalities and improve access to universal services.
- Support access to mainstream health services for adults with learning disabilities.
- Contribute to the multi-professional assessment of adults with learning disabilities, focusing on promoting function, quality of life, and potential realization.
- Use outcome measures to ensure that optimum physical and mental health needs are met.
- Establish and sustain links with primary care settings and non-statutory agencies to facilitate access to universal services.
- Contribute to assessments for Continuing Healthcare funding and coordinate support packages.
- Stay up-to-date with current best practice, trends, and research in learning disabilities and related topics.
- Maintain accurate client records and produce high-quality reports as required.
We are looking for a Physiotherapist with:
- BSc(Hons)/Diploma in Physiotherapy and evidence of additional post-registration training.
- A broad range of experiences at band 5/junior level, including musculoskeletal, neurology, and respiratory care.
