Job Description

To lead, drive, and manage the successful delivery of the operational credit and risk plan, maximising performance of the department in minimising financial loss and providing credit decisions that maximise profit and minimise risk, ensuring that regulatory, TCF, and FGFS's quality and compliance standards and expectations are met.

  1. Leading, managing, and monitoring the credit and risk operational plan, ensuring the effective delivery of department targets and objectives
  2. Contributing to and supporting the development and delivery of the FGFS credit, application fraud, and account-level fraud strategies to optimise loss prevention and minimising risk, ensuring that the right customer outcomes are achieved
  3. Leading, managing, and developing the performance and potential of the credit and risk team
  4. Leading and driving adherence to all governance, risk, and compliance standards across credit and risk teams, delivering a consistent and quality service

Providing continuous improvement support, ensuring that associated change projects are landed successfully in the team/department

Qualifications
  • Experience of working within the financial services sector with particular experience in credit underwriting, application fraud, and/or account-level fraud
  • Extensive experience of working and delivering in a regulated environment
  • Excellent working knowledge of financial standards and guidelines - e.g. FCA, TCF, Data Protection
  • Is delivery and customer-focused
  • Experience of leading, managing, and maximising the performance of others
  • Ability to plan and prioritise effectively to meet changing priorities and demands
  • Ability to interpret data and information to highlight opportunities and minimise risk
  • Experience of risk management and controls
  • Excellent communication and engagement skills
  • Proven track record in effective facilitation and communication at multiple levels
  • Is commercially astute
  • Ability to engage and influence stakeholders at an appropriate level
  • Is analytical, pragmatic, and systematic in approach to problem-solving

Ability to manage conflict and knows when to escalate
