About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Process Design Engineer to join our Water Division in Syracuse, NY. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing process mechanical designs for wastewater treatment projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop process mechanical designs for wastewater treatment projects, following relevant design, engineering, and building codes.
  • Analyze and interpret reports, drawings, and analytical data to inform project planning and design.
  • Develop project documents, including technical specifications, procurement documents, and purchase orders.
  • Communicate with clients, discipline leads, vendors, subcontractors, contractors, and regulatory agencies during the design and construction processes.
  • Participate in quality review processes and provide quality work to lead engineers or project managers.
  • Train and mentor early career employees and serve as a subject matter expert to other engineers.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, with 15+ years of qualifying engineering experience in wastewater treatment design.
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) License.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and AutoCAD Plant 3D/Revit MEP.
  • Experience with piping and instrumentation drawings, process flow diagrams, and mass/flow/energy balances.
  • Ability to develop and modify technical specifications and equipment data sheets.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
