Position Overview

Role Summary

In the capacity of Fleet Operations Supervisor, you will oversee the administration and upkeep of the entire vehicle fleet utilized by Fuelmii, along with the associated equipment. Your responsibilities will also extend to managing the maintenance of static storage tanks and dispensers located at various facilities.

Your role will involve selecting the most economical vehicle maintenance strategies, which may include engaging competitive third-party service providers. You will assist in the design and construction of new vehicles, ensuring all mechanical components (such as tanks, pumps, and gauges) are maintained effectively. Additionally, you will provide training to fuel operators on pump operations and basic vehicle and pump repairs. It will be essential to maintain accurate records and implement systems to achieve and uphold various certifications, such as ISO and FORS.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary contact for inquiries related to transport and depot tanks.
  • Lead strategic initiatives and report outcomes to management.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory transport regulations.
  • Facilitate fleet expansion by identifying and procuring new vehicles in collaboration with management.
  • Manage the monthly fleet budget and operational expenditures as directed by the finance department.
  • Monitor fuel stock variances in vehicles and static tanks, providing bi-monthly reports.
  • Assist management in preparing and presenting reports regarding fleet operations to the executive team.
  • Identify and propose cost-saving opportunities within the fleet supply chain, developing operational plans for implementation.
  • Verify transport rates from service providers to assess market competitiveness.
  • Collaborate with Depot Managers to ensure operational consistency and efficiency.
  • Schedule maintenance for vehicles due for servicing at competitive rates.
  • Conduct monthly review meetings with staff involved in transport operations.
  • Hold quarterly meetings with management and relevant departments to discuss policies and processes.
  • Support the organization during periods of change and growth from an operational perspective.
  • Uphold the company’s reputation with partners, suppliers, and customers.
  • Encourage staff to perform their roles to the best of their abilities.
  • Strategically manage time and evaluate opportunities across various projects.
  • Facilitate effective internal communication to ensure clarity and engagement.
  • Provide training and mentorship to staff regarding fleet operations.
  • Participate in discussions with drivers on relevant topics.
  • Report daily on fleet status and necessary actions.
  • Work towards reducing maintenance costs.

  • Achieve and maintain FORS silver status.
  • Be prepared for a 24/7 operational environment, with primary hours being Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 18:00.
