We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced nurse to join our Breast Cancer team. The successful candidate will have a strong passion for delivering high-quality patient care and will be able to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Main DutiesThe role will involve working closely with the Breast Clinical Nurse Specialist, Acute Oncology CNS, Chemotherapy unit, patients, relatives, and clinical staff to provide supportive care and information within the outpatient setting. The post holder will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating programmes of patient care, as well as promoting a patient-focused approach to care in collaboration with all relevant healthcare professionals.

Key Working RelationshipsThe post holder will work closely with the following teams and services:
- Chemotherapy Unit
- Tumour site Multi-disciplinary teams / Clinical Nurse Specialists
- Acute Oncology Service
- Pharmacy
- Pathology
- Administration services
- Emergency service
The ideal candidate will have:
- Ability to prioritise and organise workload
- Ability to assess, plan, and evaluate patient care needs according to the individual
Desirable skills and qualifications include:
- Computer/IT literate
- Cannulation and venepuncture skills
- Intravenous drug administration skills
- Port a caths, and PICC
- Involvement in standard setting and audit
The successful candidate will be a current Registered Nurse with the NMC or working towards it, and will have a degree in a nurse-related specialty or working towards it. Mentorship or teaching qualification is desirable.
