Upper GI Cancer Support Nurse

About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated nurse to join our Upper GI Team as a Band 6 Support Nurse. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain experience and knowledge of Upper GI cancer management in secondary care and develop key CNS skills in an environment supported by an experienced nursing team.
The nurse will work across the Trust and be supported by a team of CNSs to deliver an exceptional standard of nursing care throughout the cancer patient pathway. They will develop skills enabling them to practice at an advanced clinical level, both in their own clinical practice and as a role model to others as a Upper GI cancer Key Worker.
Main Responsibilities
The postholder will provide support to the current Upper GI Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialists in providing expert cancer supportive care in order to implement National and local clinical guidance and the National Cancer Strategy.
They will work closely with the Upper GI Clinical Nurse Specialists, the Upper GI Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT), the Acute Oncology team, and the Palliative Care team, in order to implement National Guidance, and ensure patients receive the best care.
