About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic IT Tutor to deliver high-quality education to prisoners. As an IT Tutor, you will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive curriculum, including IT Functional Skills up to Level 2. Your role will involve:

  • Identifying individual learning needs and creating personalized learning plans.
  • Reviewing learner progression and adapting the curriculum to meet their needs.
  • Preparing and delivering engaging lesson plans that address basic literacy, numeracy, language, and social/employability barriers.
  • Actively seeking feedback from learners and other sources to improve curriculum content.
  • Engaging and motivating learners to increase retention.

As an IT Tutor, you will work closely with the education department to ensure that learners receive the best possible education. You will be fully supported by an experienced team and have access to training and development opportunities.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Hold a Degree or professional qualification relevant to the role.
  • Have a Teaching Qualification or be willing to gain one within the first two years of service.
  • Have knowledge and experience of current teaching and learning strategies.
  • Possess excellent team working, communication, and interpersonal skills.

As a successful candidate, you will be required to obtain the appropriate prison clearance before starting the role and maintain this throughout employment.
