Role Objective

The primary aim of this position is to architect, create, and enhance software solutions by employing diverse engineering methodologies that empower our clients and team members with advanced business, platform, and technological capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement high-caliber software solutions utilizing industry-standard programming languages, frameworks, and tools, ensuring that the code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
  • Engage in cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to establish software requirements, formulate solution strategies, and guarantee seamless integration aligned with business goals.
  • Participate in peer collaboration, conduct code reviews, and foster a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay abreast of technological trends and innovations within the industry, actively contributing to the organization's technology communities to promote a culture of technical excellence and growth.
  • Adhere to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, safeguard sensitive information, and ensure the delivery of secure software solutions.
  • Implement effective unit testing methodologies to guarantee proper code design, readability, and reliability.

As a Full Stack Developer at Barclays, you will lead the transformation of our digital landscape, driving innovation and excellence through the use of cutting-edge technology to enhance our digital offerings and deliver exceptional customer experiences.

Assessment may focus on critical skills relevant to success in this role, including strong experience with tools such as PowerCurve Strategy Manager (PCSM) and databases like Java and SQL, knowledge of unsecured borrowing with exposure to credit risk management, experience with the AWS platform, and a comprehensive understanding of the software development lifecycle. Familiarity with the Open-Source Hadoop Ecosystem or experience in machine learning scoring with tools such as PCSM or BLAZE is advantageous.

Evaluation may also encompass critical skills related to risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, and digital technology, along with job-specific technical skills.
