Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Classroom Assistant to join our team at the Education Authority. As a Classroom Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of children with special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

* Assist teachers in the classroom to ensure a child-centred learning experience
* Provide individualized support to children with special educational needs
* Develop and maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment
* Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to ensure effective communication and coordination

Requirements:

* Hold a minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at A* - C including English and Mathematics
* Have experience of working with children
* Evidence of a working knowledge of information technology systems
* Ability to work flexibly and creatively to meet the needs of children with special educational needs
* Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills
* Evidence of effective planning and organizing skills

Desirable Criteria:

* Experience of working with children with special educational needs
* Hold a minimum of a Level 2 childcare qualification or have a minimum of six months' experience of working with children in a formal learning environment

Selection Process:

* Shortlisting will be carried out on the basis of the essential criteria set out in Section 1 below
* Interviews will be held to assess the desirable criteria
