Job Title: Classroom Assistant - Special Education Needs

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Classroom Assistant to join our team at the Education Authority. As a Classroom Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting children with special educational needs in a special school setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering lessons to children with special educational needs
  • Provide individualized support to children with special needs, promoting their social, emotional, and academic development
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
  • Contribute to the creation of a safe and inclusive learning environment
Requirements:
  • Hold a minimum of a Level 2 childcare qualification as approved by the Education Authority
  • Have a minimum of six months' experience of working with children with special educational needs in a special school setting
  • Evidence of a working knowledge of information technology systems, including Microsoft Word and Outlook
Desirable Criteria:
  • Hold GCSE passes at grades A*-C in English and/or Mathematics
  • Have experience working in a Special School with pupils who have severe learning difficulties

Please note that the successful candidate will be required to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure of Criminal Background check.
