Job Title: Commercial Manager - Defence Sector

We are seeking a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the Aerospace and Defence Sector to join our dynamic team at Leonardo.

As a key member of our Commercial team within the Electronic Warfare Line of Business, you will engage with domestic and international customers, supporting integrated project teams (IPTs) and managing contracts and bids.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic guidance on key contracts and bid activities
  • Support the Head of Commercial for our Surveillance and Protection Technologies (S&PT) sector
  • Offer guidance and mentorship to junior team members
  • Negotiate complex contract terms and conditions
  • Develop commercial strategies for optimal outcomes
  • Lead customer/supplier meetings and negotiations
  • Prepare and submit high-quality proposals
  • Manage commercial risks and ensure compliance
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders
  • Support new business acquisition and growth initiatives
  • Effectively prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects

Requirements:

A successful candidate must:

  • Hold a degree or professional qualification in defence contracting or a related field
  • Have a deep understanding of Leonardo's markets, products, and customers
  • Familiarity with SAP and other commercial software

Desirable Skills:

Business finance acumen

Knowledge of contract law and export regulations

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Additional Details:

Travel may be required within the UK and potentially overseas
