Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Band 5 Practice Nurse to join our primary healthcare team at Defence Medical Services. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the delivery of general medical services and occupational health to military personnel.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide primary healthcare nursing care to the medical centre population in conjunction with the PHC team.
- Triage of minor injuries and minor illnesses.
- Vital observations and diagnostics, including blood pressure, pulse, oxygen saturation levels, temperature, respiration rate, blood glucose monitoring, and peak flow recording.
- Act as lead nurse for the care of patients with long-term conditions.
- Maintain accurate electronic and written records, ensuring confidentiality of information.
Requirements
- Professional/clinical knowledge acquired through training to degree/diploma level.
- Must be a Registered Nurse, with a live registration on Part 1 of the NMC Register and hold a valid and in-date Personal Identification Number (PIN) with no restriction of practice.
- Must hold in-date BLS and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification.
Desirable Qualifications
- Mentorship Qualification.
- Safeguarding Level 2/3 certificates.
