Role Overview
Purpose of the Role
To ensure the precise processing of clients' financial information and the timely preparation of annual financial statements and related outputs, adhering to client agreements and statutory requirements. Collaborating with the audit team to guarantee that financial reports are produced to a high standard and within deadlines to facilitate audit processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee a portfolio of clients, including intricate financial statements (such as consolidation and IFRS).
- Assist the Business Outsource Services Support (BOSS) team in addressing technical inquiries stemming from internal and external requests, summarizing findings for management and providing advice as necessary.
- Mentor and develop junior staff members.
- Manage direct reports, including performance monitoring, conducting appraisals, and ensuring timely feedback.
- Support fellow managers with various administrative tasks and projects as they arise.
- Maintain consistent quality across all outputs.
- Engage with clients to perform accounting tasks as needed, through phone, email, and potentially occasional on-site visits.
- Collaborate closely with audit and business tax teams to deliver a seamless service to clients and meet deadlines.
- Contribute ideas on optimizing the accounts preparation process to enhance operational efficiencies.
Qualifications
Essential Skills and Experience
- Previous experience with computerized accounting systems, including cloud-based software.
- Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a larger team.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients and colleagues.
- Results-driven approach to exceed client expectations, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality work that meets deadlines.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Familiarity with accounting standards (IFRS and FRS 102) and the Companies Act.
Professional Qualifications and Education
- Strong academic background.
- ACCA or equivalent qualification, or qualified by experience.
- Qualified accountant (ACA, CA, ACCA).
