Band 7 Senior Orthoptic Specialist

**This role is a temporary position for a duration of 9 months to provide coverage for maternity leave.**

The successful candidate will be a highly proficient and seasoned orthoptist or optometrist who, while adhering to professional standards, delivers comprehensive and high-quality ophthalmic care as an independent practitioner. The role involves collaboration as a vital member of the cross-county Orthoptic and Optometry team in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of patients visiting the eye unit.

The Senior Specialist will also oversee a specific sub-specialty area within the service.

Key Responsibilities

The role requires autonomous practice within the framework of Trust and HCPC/GOC policies, protocols, and guidelines, showcasing safe clinical judgment, advanced critical thinking, and a holistic approach to patient care.

This position will necessitate cross-county collaboration, including sessions at various facilities, as well as the flexibility to work in multiple locations as needed.
