We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Art and Design Technology Technician to join our team at Star Academies. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a vital role in delivering outstanding support to our pupils and staff.
Your primary responsibility will be to provide technical support for our art and design technology programs, ensuring that our students have access to the resources and equipment they need to succeed. You will work closely with our teaching staff to develop and implement effective learning strategies, and provide guidance and support to students as needed.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of art and design technology principles, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will also need to be able to work independently and as part of a team, and be able to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical support for art and design technology programs, including setting up and maintaining equipment and software.
- Develop and implement effective learning strategies in collaboration with teaching staff.
- Provide guidance and support to students as needed, including one-on-one tutoring and small group instruction.
- Assist with the development and implementation of art and design technology curriculum.
- Collaborate with other support staff to ensure a cohesive and effective support system.
- A Levels or Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject or equivalent.
- An understanding of the main Health and Safety Regulations, including COSHH and risk assessment, and how they apply in a school environment.
- Experience of keeping work records.
- The ability to carry out risk assessments in relation to practical work.
- The ability to effectively direct the work of a team.
