Our client is seeking a Satellite Integration Mechanical Engineer to join their team on a contract basis. This role involves providing mechanical engineering support for Assembly, Integration, and Testing (AIT) processes related to the production of satellites and their payloads.
Position Overview:
Satellite Integration Mechanical Engineer

Key Responsibilities:
- Project Preparation:
Assist in the customization phase from project initiation, ensuring design for manufacture during Digital Mock-Up (DMU) sessions. Contribute to the development of necessary documentation for production phases, including work instructions and procedures. - Operational Support:
Provide assistance to the AIT Lead Engineering team during peak workloads, aiding process owners with issue resolution and operational tasks. Oversee installation activities on satellites and support quality reviews, including PFMEA and Root Cause Analysis. - Non-Project Duties:
Design tooling and build aids for assembly, support research and development efforts, and create training modules. Ensure standardization and optimization of working processes, while also engaging in process improvement initiatives.
Essential Qualifications:
- Strong mechanical skills with relevant experience in spacecraft or aircraft.
- Experience in avionics integration on spacecraft.
- Familiarity with handling large spacecraft and system testing.
- Hands-on experience at the system level, with a focus on writing procedures and process control.
- Detail-oriented with a quality-driven approach.
- Proficient in producing high-quality documentation such as test specifications and AIT plans.
- Self-motivated with the ability to adapt to changing priorities across multiple projects.
- Excellent problem-solving, planning, and communication skills.
- Understanding of satellite integration processes and phases.
- Experience with mechanical integration of various systems and subsystems.
