About the RoleWe are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our team at an SEN Trust. As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with a range of needs, including autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, and associated difficulties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with their learning, development, and progress in all areas of the curriculum
- Help young people with complex needs to achieve their educational and personal goals
- Develop a greater understanding of Special Education issues and demonstrate a commitment to equality, diversity, and the rights of all young people
- Work collaboratively with the teaching team to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment
Requirements:
- Passionate about working with students with complex needs
- Ability to work towards getting formal qualifications and take responsibility for your own development
- Compassionate and empathetic approach to supporting students with challenging behaviors
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
