We're seeking a skilled Senior C++ Application Developer to support our Software Development team in Milton Keynes. As a key member of the Connells Group IT team, you'll contribute to the development, support, and enhancements of business systems using.NET technologies and SQL Server.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement secure, high-performing n-tier applications using best practices in database development with SQL Server.
  • Develop efficient integrations with internal or third-party systems using various approaches based on the technology stack.
  • Adhere to best practice coding standards and contribute to the improvement of development processes and methodologies within the engineering team.
  • Collaborate with other Application Developers on projects or tasks as needed.
  • Contribute to the overall development of business systems and ensure they meet the required standards.

Experience & Skills:

Essential:

  • Strong C++ skills with a focus on software development.
  • Proficiency in C# with experience in.NET technologies.
  • Understanding and/or experience with WinForms and Microsoft Foundation Class.
  • Excellent skills in SQL Server with a focus on database development.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to learn, adopt, and advance team best-practices, procedures, and qualitative standards.
  • Ability to handle user issues and frustrations in a high-pressure environment.
  • Willingness to own issues and chase them through to completion, communicating effectively and in a timely manner.
  • Good team communication skills with experience in sharing and presenting new ideas and approaches.

Desirable:

  • Understanding of REST API with experience in implementing API integrations.
  • Proven experience in unit testing both new and legacy applications.
