Job Title: Performance Planning Engineer

At Turner & Townsend Group, we're seeking a skilled Performance Planning Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our project controls team, you'll play a crucial role in delivering high-quality projects that meet our clients' needs.

Job Summary

We're looking for an experienced project controls professional with a strong background in life sciences or data centres. Your primary responsibility will be to establish and maintain project controls processes, templates, and tools, ensuring that our projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the evaluation of project time, cost, and quality targets, applying governance controls as necessary to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Collaborate with a remote team of cost managers to establish a market-tested cost baseline and ensure clients receive value for money.
  • Guide and influence general contractors to ensure they're progressing in line with the schedule and within agreed cash flow parameters.
  • Act as the key point of contact for clients, resolving delivery and commercial issues while preparing formal and ad-hoc reports on time, cost, and quality targets.
  • Create and/or work within a cost report, summarizing financials in an executive-level dashboard.
  • Understand change management principles, lead agreed change management processes, and provide a platform for adding, tracking, monitoring, and approving changes.
  • Coordinate and lead planning sessions and workshops with clients and vendors to compile the master project/programme schedule, agreeing baselines and a critical path.
  • Actively participate in project team risk evaluations, incorporating defined risks into Monte Carlo to output quantitative impacts on the overall project cost and schedule.
  • Work closely with the project team to stay informed on project changes, incorporating and communicating these to the project team to allow for approvals in the change management process.
  • Hold vendors accountable for required schedule updates and reporting to maintain timely and accurate updates of the master schedule, ensuring that schedules adhere to defined processes and quality expectations.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • Proven experience in project controls coordination across all phases of the project lifecycle, including program, risk, and reporting, with specialist life sciences or data centre sector experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in determining corrective actions or recommendations based on facts and figures, critically evaluating information and data from various sources.
  • Advanced skills in MS Office and Primavera P6.
  • Strong time management skills, quick thinking, and ability to meet project deadlines as necessary.
