Position Overview:
Lead Cost Estimator - Main Contractor – New Developments and Renovations

Candidate Profile:
We are seeking a skilled Estimator with experience in the construction sector, particularly in new builds and refurbishment projects.

About the Company:
ITS (Southampton) Ltd is collaborating with a reputable construction firm known for its expertise in design and build, as well as refurbishment projects across various sectors including Healthcare, Education, Commercial, and Leisure. The company undertakes projects valued up to £7M, with typical project sizes ranging from £500K to £3M.


Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop comprehensive cost estimates for upcoming construction projects, detailing material and labor expenses.
2. Analyze project plans and specifications to identify potential challenges or opportunities for cost savings.

3. Collaborate with project managers and team members to collect necessary information, ensuring estimates are precise and thorough.


4. Research and evaluate material and labor costs.
5. Recognize potential risks or contingencies in projects and incorporate these into the estimates.
6. Assist in the formulation of bids and proposals.
7. Participate in pre-tender and post-tender meetings as necessary.

Qualifications and Experience:
1. Proven experience in an estimating capacity within the construction industry.
2. Strong knowledge of construction materials and methodologies.
3. Familiarity with cost estimating software.
4. Experience collaborating with contractors, architects, and other industry stakeholders.
5. Exceptional attention to detail and ability to perform under pressure.
6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
