Senior Care Assistant/Team Leader Role

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Senior Care Assistant/Team Leader to join our team at Valerian Court Home. As a key member of our care team, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating the delivery of high-quality care to our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and motivate a team of care staff to ensure the smooth running of the home and maintain a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Assist residents with personal care, such as dressing, bathing, toileting, and mobility, while prioritizing dignity and independence.
  • Oversee the ordering, administration, and accurate documentation of medication.
  • Engage with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and staff to ensure clear and compassionate communication.
  • Foster a team-focused ethos, respecting diversity and promoting a supportive environment for all staff.
  • Welcome visitors and show prospective residents and families around the home's facilities.
  • Respond promptly to emergency call bells, assess situations, and provide or escalate assistance as needed.
  • Maintain and update care plans, risk assessments, and case notes to reflect residents' needs and wishes.
  • Participate in meetings, training, and e-learning to support your personal and professional growth.
  • Follow Health and Safety policies, including COSHH regulations, and report any concerns to management.
Requirements
  • SVQ/NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care is essential. We also welcome applicants actively working towards their Level 3 qualification.
  • Experience in practical medication administration with proven competencies.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team, while delegating tasks effectively and maintaining a supportive environment.
  • A kind, caring, and compassionate personality with a commitment to person-centred care.
