About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Oncology Specialist to join our team at Velindre Cancer Centre. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our cancer services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in outpatient and inpatient clinical care, including the Acute Oncology Service and the Assessment Unit.
  • Contribute to the development of our cancer services and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive patient care.
  • Participate in teaching and educational activities to support the development of our staff.
  • Contribute to research and clinical trials, and participate in the development of new treatments and therapies.
Requirements
  • Eligibility for GMC Specialist Register with one of the following: CCT within 6 months of interview, CESR, or European Community Rights.
  • FRCR (UK) qualification.
  • Site specialist interest in lung cancer.
  • Experience of MDT decision making.
  • Experience of RT planning for lung cancer.
  • Experience of RT for palliative and emergency indications.
  • Independent prescribing of SACT for lung cancer.
  • Acute Oncology on call experience (junior level, supervised).
  • Experience of recruitment to clinical trials.
  • Teaching Experience.
