Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Staff Nurse to join our dynamic team in the Acute Admissions Unit. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and experience from admission to discharge.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of patients with a variety of conditions, prioritizing and managing clinically unwell patients and facilitating safe admissions, discharges, and transfers.
  • Expertly care for patients who are end of life, acutely unwell, and deteriorating, as well as those with mental health and substance misuse issues.
  • Develop and implement highly skilled care plans, assessments, and interventions, demonstrating strong clinical acumen within our specialty.
  • Lead and support staff, facilitating a positive and productive team environment, and promoting compassionate care, patient safety, and quality care.
  • Participate in the training and development of staff and students, mentoring, preceptoring, and facilitating development on the ward.
Requirements
  • Relevant acute medical admissions experience, with a strong understanding of the complexities of patient care in this setting.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with a dynamic multi-professional team.
  • Strong clinical skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage a high volume of patients with varying needs.
  • Commitment to mentoring, preceptoring, and facilitating development on the ward, as well as a passion for the training and development of staff and students.
