SEN Educational Support Assistant

Full Time Position

Location: Ystrad Mynach

Compensation: £86.40 per day

Teaching Personnel is seeking dedicated individuals with prior experience in supporting individuals with Special Educational Needs (SEN), whether through professional roles or personal experiences. We are collaborating with a local educational institution to recruit staff who can provide assistance to students on a one-to-one basis or in small groups. Having relevant experience is essential to ensure a strong start and to foster meaningful connections with students from the outset.

The ideal candidate will possess a calm demeanor and a constructive outlook, with the ability to function effectively in a secondary educational environment. You will be expected to engage with students ranging from early years to 19 years of age, thus adaptability is a key requirement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support: Provide individualized and group support to students, assisting them in managing their behavior and emotions within a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Lesson Planning: Collaborate in developing lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of all students.
  • Comprehensive Assistance: Offer support to students both inside and outside the classroom, including personal care when necessary.

Requirements:

  • Possession of a valid Enhanced DBS Certificate (assistance with application available)
  • Current registration with the Education Workforce Council (assistance with application available)
  • Experience in working with individuals with SEN
  • Willingness to participate in additional training, such as Safeguarding

All quoted pay rates include 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This position is temporary, with the potential for permanent placement in the future.
