About the Role
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) is seeking a highly skilled Associate Project Manager to join our team. As a key member of our project management team, you will play a critical role in delivering assigned projects and supporting Project Managers to achieve their goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Management and Governance - Utilize project management approaches and tools to lead the delivery team, support the Project Manager in identifying requirements, planning work, and managing delivery to time, cost, and quality.
- Financial Management and Planning - Manage effort and expenditure for project delivery, ensuring planned costs are on track and taking appropriate actions or escalation as required.
- Resource Management - Manage approved resources for project delivery, ensuring the planned schedule date is on track and taking appropriate actions or escalation as required.
- Information Management - Record key project information in line with business needs, enabling follow-up reviews and sharing with stakeholders after project conclusion.
- Stakeholder Management - Understand stakeholder needs through analysis and ensure these are assessed and managed throughout the project life cycle to protect business reputation.
- Communications - Plan and manage project communications, including internal and external communications, and collate and format data for cascading.
- Risk Management - Undertake project risk management, including risk identification, mitigation actions, and risk budget, ensuring these are assessed and managed throughout the project life cycle to protect business against financial risk.
- Change Control and Lessons Learnt - Identify changes in scope and/or time and cost, ensuring adequate contractual cover to protect the business, and record and share lessons learned during and at the end of the project.
Requirements
- Prince 2 (foundation level) accredited or equivalent qualification such as APM Project Fundamentals Qualification (PFQ) or MSP Foundation.
- Comprehensive experience of using Microsoft tools.
- Experience of managing budgets and cost benefit cases.
- Experience of working in a project team.
- Knowledge of project methodologies and software.
- Excellent communication skills.
