Director of Education & Community Engagement

Grounds For Sculpture (GFS) is embarking on a transformative journey to become a more equitable, diverse, and inclusive institution. As a key member of our team, the Director of Education & Community Engagement will play a pivotal role in shaping our educational, wellness, performance, and community programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive framework for engaging current and new audiences, aligning with GFS's core values and institutional identity.
  • Collaborate with community leaders, artists, curators, educators, donors, and business leaders to build and sustain a suite of programs reflecting the racial and economic diversity of our community.
  • Manage relationships with school, patron, volunteer, and other community groups and arts organizations in the area.
  • Serve as an ambassador for Grounds For Sculpture, fostering a culture of inclusion for all members, donors, volunteers, and guests.
  • Actively support grant application creation, implementation, and reporting in collaboration with the Development department.

Requirements:

  • A proven commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Experience with ADA and wellness programs.
  • Proven experience with program and/or education research, evaluation, and design with clear and compelling results.
  • Track record of community building experience.
  • Management of program and/or education leadership responsibility in art organizations, gardens, or community organizations.
  • Proven track record of working with community leaders, artists, curators, educators, donors, business leaders, and board members.
  • A creative collaborator with outstanding oral and written communication skills.
