About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Occupational Therapist to take on a leadership role within our Medical and Elderly Therapy Team at Lister Hospital in Stevenage.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical and professional leadership to a team of qualified staff and technical instructors.
  • Attend operational and service-related meetings as a representative of OT and Therapy Services, advising on service developments in line with national standards, guidelines, and current evidence base.
  • Take a lead role in the assessment and treatment of medical and elderly patients with diverse, chronic presentations and highly complex physical and cognitive presentations.
  • Assist in the formulation of clinical diagnosis and treatment indicated, maintaining records as an autonomous practitioner, and ensuring others do the same.
  • Plan, coordinate, and evaluate OT interventions provided to patients on a day-to-day basis, contributing to the wider Therapy service.
  • Be responsible for and undertake a clinical caseload to a high professional standard, using specialist knowledge and skills from theoretical and practical experience.
  • Undertake/lead evidence-based audit and research projects to develop and enhance personal and team's clinical practice, implementing specific changes to practice, and writing/contributing to service standards, protocols, and clinical care pathways.
