Financial Accountant

Reed Finance is seeking a highly skilled Financial Accountant to join a well-established and reputable global organisation.
The primary responsibility of the Financial Accountant will be to support the company's monthly and quarterly reporting and oversee the adherence to the monthly and quarterly controlling framework (GRC), working alongside other members of the finance team to ensure the submission of timely and high-quality financial data as required to meet internal/external reporting requirements.
As part of the role, the Financial Accountant will mentor other junior members of the finance team and utilise their skills to support the overall successful delivery of objectives.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Finance Controller in ensuring the accuracy and timelines of all financial records.
- Deliver the monthly/quarterly/annual close processes, analysing transactions and preparing required journals including fixed asset related transactions. Work alongside other members of the finance team as necessary to ensure all deliverables are completed to a high standard.
- Ensure compliance with group internal control procedures and support other team members with reconciliation of key Balance Sheet accounts.
- Prepare statutory accounts and ensure statutory deadlines are adhered to. Be a main point of contact during internal/external audit processes. Supported by the finance team as necessary.
- Provide timely and accurate data and analysis to assist in the completion of corporate tax submissions.
- Be responsible for the review and submission of VAT Return workings and associated reconciliations. Review the calculations prepared by other members of the Finance team and understand the process to be able to deputise as required.
Candidate Profile:
- A qualified accountant with good systems knowledge and a grasp and appreciation of strong financial controls.
- Good business acumen with a structured and data-driven mindset, sound knowledge of financial management and analytical skills.
- Extensive knowledge of statutory accounts reporting and HMRC and Companies House reporting requirements.
- Highly computer literate with the ability to develop and use complex PC-based spreadsheets and presentation tools.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage deadlines.
