About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and confident Phlebotomist to join our team at University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust. As a Phlebotomist, you will play a vital role in the collection of quality blood samples from patients, which is a crucial stage in many medical investigations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect blood samples from patients in a variety of settings, including hospitals and community clinics.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to ensure the smooth operation of the phlebotomy service.
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Ensure that all blood samples are handled and transported safely and securely.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to maintain and improve your skills and knowledge.

Requirements

  • NVQ/QCF Level 2 or equivalent in a related subject, or GCSE English and maths at C grade or above.
  • Experience of working in a healthcare setting, preferably in a phlebotomy role.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Basic keyboard skills and the ability to use a variety of software applications.
